Mission
The mission of the Gay men's Medicine Circle of Los Angeles, CA is:
- To use the consciousness and tools of contemporary CORE SHAMANISM to further the development of gay spirit and community among gay men.
- To provide continued training in Shamanic practice.
- To study the lives and teachings of gay visionaries and teachers throughout history and from a multicultural perspective in order to explore the evolutionary and social meaning of being gay.
- To foster and facilitate the intergenerational dialogue, and to nurture responsible leadership within the gay community.
- To provide a wide variety of gay-centered workshops, conferences, and gatherings specifically designed to further the exploration of gay spirituality and consciousness.
- To conduct community ceremonies and rituals aimed at facilitation the understanding and creation os Sacred Space within gay men and within the gay community
- To further the physical and spiritual well-being of bay men by providing a wide variety of Shamanic healing practices.
- To look to the welfare of the gay village, locally and globally.
The Circle seeks to affirm the premise that being gay is important, substantial, and meaningful, and constitutes a significant evolutionary and social purpose that gives a unique inner vision to guide and shape behavior, lives, and psycho-spiritual growth.
